The Ayiti AI Hackathon is for Haitians, by Haitians. We are building a space where serious work and mutual respect go together, and where builders from across Haiti can come together to learn, experiment, and build.
Be Respectful: Treat everyone with dignity. Harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.
Be Collaborative: Share what you learn, help others when you can, and respect the work of other teams.
Build With Purpose: Start with a clear problem and think carefully about the people and context your project is meant to serve.
Respect the Community: Volunteers, mentors, partners, and organizers help make the hackathon possible. Treat them with respect.
Fair Play: Teams of 2–3. The project itself must be built during the 48 hours. You may prepare your idea, research, architecture, datasets, and development plan beforehand. AI models and tools are allowed, provided they are properly licensed and disclosed. Do not share work between teams.
Judging: Projects are evaluated across five equally weighted criteria: Problem, Solution, Execution, Context, and Potential. Projects should have something working and ready to demonstrate at the end of the hackathon.
Harassment or discrimination of any kind
Disruptive behavior, dishonesty about what was built, or violation of the event rules
Enforcement: Organizers may remove participants who violate this code, at any point during training or the hackathon. Report concerns to an organizer as soon as possible.
