Guidelines

The 2026 edition raises the bar on purpose. These rules exist so that thirty prepared teams get a fair, focused, and serious 48 hours, and so that what gets built is real.

Rules

  • Teams of 2–3. You apply as a team, with a frontier, an idea, and the first Haitian user you are building for.

  • Training is part of the competition. Two unjustified absences from the four Saturdays and your seat goes to the waitlist.

  • All code is written during the 48 hours. Preparation (mockups, architecture, datasets) is encouraged; pre-existing code is not allowed, except public libraries and tools.

  • Every project uses at least one AI model, closed or open, in the cloud or on the device, in a meaningful way.

  • All models, datasets, APIs, and tools must be disclosed, with licensing that permits their use.

  • The product must be deployed and usable at demo time. A mockup does not place.

  • All team members are on site in the Ouest department from Friday 5 PM to Sunday 6 PM.

  • Intellectual property stays with the team. Open source is encouraged and rewarded, never imposed.

  • Sharing work between teams is not allowed. Breaking these rules means disqualification.

Submission

  • Submissions close at 12:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2026

  • Code in a GitHub repository (public or private) shared with the organizers

  • A README with project description, the user it serves, setup, and usage

  • A live, deployed URL, the product the jury will actually use

  • A two-minute video showing the product in use

  • A clear list of every model, dataset, API, and tool used

  • Live demo in front of the jury: five minutes, then three minutes of questions

What's Provided

  • Four Saturdays of training, live and recorded, with weekly challenges and office hours

  • Cloud and API credits from our technology partners, distributed at the first training session

  • Mentors on rotation throughout the 48 hours, and a mid-point check-in on Saturday

  • Venue with internet, backup power, charging, and a rest area for the full weekend

  • Meals, water, and coffee from Friday evening to Sunday evening

  • Travel and lodging support for selected teams from outside the Ouest department, within available means

  • A stage, a jury, partners, and media on Sunday, and three months of accompaniment for the best teams
